The Hallway Moment: What Families Get Wrong About Aging at Home
for: Healthy-aging conferences, senior living, hospital & social-work teams, community groups
Every family hits the moment a parent can't quite manage alone, and almost none are ready for it. From inside the homes his company serves: the warning signs people miss, why the need is rarely medical, and how to start care before the crisis instead of after it.
-
What Homer Knew About Growing Older
for: Libraries, universities, book festivals, retirement communities, humanities series
Nestor, Phoenix, Priam, Laertes. The translator of the Iliad and Odyssey on the old men of Homer, and what a 2,700-year-old poem says about purpose, grief, fathers and sons, and aging with dignity.
-
The Caregiving Squeeze: Why Your Employees' Parents Are Your Business
for: HR & benefits leaders, employer forums, chambers of commerce
Millions of working adults are quietly caring for an aging parent, and it shows up as absences, burnout, and resignations. What employers can see, what actually helps, and what it costs to ignore it.
-
Building a Business Where the Product Is Trust
for: Entrepreneurship events, small-business groups, schools of business
Lessons from founding a licensed in-home care company: hiring for judgment, operating under regulation, and running a business where the thing you sell walks through a stranger's front door.
Every talk is tailored to the room. Happy to build something new for your audience.
